 POWERSIZER® Theory

Application of three main exercise principles and their relation to :

Isotonic - contraction in which a muscle shortens against a common load or tension, resulting in movement* i.e. iron weight resistance.

Isokinetic - action in which the rate of movement is constantly maintained through a specific range of motion even though maximal force is exerted** i.e. strength band resistance.

Progressive Resistance Exercise (PRE) - a training program in which the muscles must work against gradually increasing resistance; an implementation of the overload principle*** i.e. chain weight resistance.

Whereas, Overload is defined as: a principle of training describing the need to increase the load (intensity) of exercise to cause a further adaptation of a system.

Isotonic - The POWERSIZER® achieves isotonic muscle contraction by having a large capacity for, and easy interchangeability of iron weight plates, utilizing poundage as the main physical force of work to be accomplished in both a positive and negative exercise direction.

Isokinetic - The POWERSIZER® achieves this by having the exerciser be in complete control of set and repetition speed for a maximum muscle "pump", or volumization, as oxygen is delivered to the muscle group in action, while the safest and the fullest range of motion is effectively worked with a full set of seven strength bands. These individual bands are selected to give one five various degrees of smooth exercise resistance when attached to either the weight rack and cage frame, or when unattached, to the bottom of the lifting triangle and weight rack support strut.

Progressive Resistance Exercise (PRE) - The POWERSIZER® achieves this by having a set of five chains, which utilizes the total chain weight by providing the weight resistance needed to stimulate deep muscle fiber into growth through the use of progressive overload exercises which can be performed to a greater intensity.

In summary, the body's natural leveraging power needs to be overcome in more than one way if the exerciser is to stimulate new muscle growth; and, just as importantly, to not lose one's explosiveness in their given sport of choice.

The vast adaptability to the POWERSIZER® and the ease of use provide time and cost savings to the individual over owning various types of home equipment or club memberships. Owning such a versatile and powerful piece of equipment as the POWERSIZER® in your home also vastly reduces one's susceptibility to staph infections and/or other bacteria often present in public facilities.
